embroidery hoop pumpkin :: diy

do you decorate for halloween? i have to admit, i usually just display some pumpkins and gourds on the porch and call it a day. i am tempted by the smiles on my kiddos' faces when we see the giant blow-up monsters & light-up ghosts for the yard, however, i don't have an extension cord long enough to reach across our farm. (whew, close one).

these little embroidery hoop pumpkins are a fun little touch though! they are so easy to make, even the kiddos can do it. a set of them make our entryway at home look festive and sweet. wanna try yourself?

you'll need:

  • fall styled fabric
  • embroidery hoops of various sizes
  • scissors
  • green ribbon
  • hot glue gun

the how to details:
  1. stretch your fabric along the inside circle of your hoop.
  2. tighten the outside circle around it
  3. trim the fabric as close as you can to the hoop
  4. secure with glue
  5. tie a green ribbon at the top to portray a "stem"
enjoy friends! and happy fall!
