watercolor notecards :: diy

it's about that time to start sending 'thank you' cards... after a season of indulgence, it's good practice to share your gratefulness in a handwritten note. sure, an email or phone call will do... but there is nothing like the feeling of opening up a handwritten note from someone you love.

above, we're making this easy as pie by using a watercolor resistant technique. i seriously created about 25 of these bad boys in 10 minutes. here's how!

you'll need:

  • blank notecards (a textured paper is best for watercolor)
  • watercolor paints, water, brush
  • a white crayon

the DIY:
  1. write out your greeting in white crayon. if you position this just perfectly in the light, you'll be able to see the crayon wax on the paper. otherwise, you can be surprised when you...
  2. apply the watercolor lightly onto the notecard.
  3. let dry and send a thank you, a love note, or a simple hello!
