i have a couple tops that the shoulders are embellished and i really do love them. i started thinking though, how great it would be to have the ability to add these lovelies to any old top i desire!?
hence... today's DIY...
- leather
- fabric design of your choice
- scissors
- tacky fabric glue
- chain & jump rings
- leather punch or hammer & nail
- strong magnets
- e6000
the DIY details:
- cut 2 pieces of leather & two pieces of your fabric in your shoulder pad shape.
- glue the back-sides of each together
- add any beads or glitter at this point with your glue
- use your leather punch to make a hole on each side of your shoulder pad. if you don't have a punch, you can hammer a nail through and then pull out. this makes a great hole!
- hook your chain on each side using your jump rings
- glue a magnet onto bottom of pad with e6000
- let dry
- attach to shoulder of shirt with other magnet. by using these, we avoid pins and holes i our clothes!
