wonderful wednesday :: featured items

it's a beautiful hump day here in central illinois friends! i always get a little restless this time of year... do you? it's like, all i want to do is sit in the cool air with the sun on my face. i start resenting anything that keeps me away from playing outside. especially cleaning the house. ain't nobody got time for that!

i've been spending my evenings meticulously inspecting my perennial gardens. i'm resisting the urge to go buy more plants where they may be empty spots that need filling. my husband reminds me that it is, in fact, still only april and to give it some time. i love watching the little sprouts grow further out of the ground each day. i forget what is what and slightly obsess over pulling weeds.

of course, by mid-summer, i'll be sitting inside, air conditioner maxed out, watching tv while weeds & grass take over the gardens and i won't give a care in the world. i won't be able to get away from the damn sun soon enough. ha!

well, back here at the shop, i've been spending my days creating & arranging, arranging & creating. i have some really fun things to share with you this week... i hope, before it gets sun-dodging hot, you'll spend a day with friends shopping downtown. there is so much to see. eat on a patio, enjoy ice cream on another patio and wander into shops galore. what a wonderful way to spend the day!
